The Blank Slate Behemoth

This project started as a true blank slate in a new construction neighborhood. It was a large dirt rectangle with a small concrete slab outside a sliding patio door, without even a fence. Our client already had a picture in her mind of what she wanted, and we helped her to fine-tune her ideas and fill in the gaps.

We did the works - a tan vinyl privacy fence, a large Trex deck with stairs reinforced to hold a hot tub, a stone paver walkway and circular patio for a firepit area, the foundation for a large shed, perimeter garden beds, irrigation, sod, plantings, ran electrical wiring for landscape lighting, and built custom planter boxes for gardening (pictures of these coming soon!).

We were thrilled with how the project turned out, and how closely it matched what the client originally drew! Check on the side-by-side before and after pictures below!

The Garden-Variety Giant

This project was another that started as a blank canvas in a new-construction neighborhood. It started off as a large dirt front and backyard, with some tricky grading due to a drainage ditch separating this house from its neighbor. Fencing in this yard is no problem for our experienced fence-building crew.

For the backyard, the client wanted to create a personal oasis. We created a curving Tuscan Sand path that leads to a fire pit area, surrounded by rock beds and plantings that will grow to provide privacy and shade. Large boulders and moguled beds create a more natural feel. Custom garden boxes will be perfect for veggies and herbs come spring.

This project was also our first opportunity to experiment with 3D modeling our design ideas to show the client what we planned to build, and was an excellent tool to increase communication and efficiency on creating the outdoor landscape our client dreamed of! Take a look at the transformation from before, to 3D design, to the final product below!
